Call for Volunteers: Mommy & Me Vendor Table
We have a Mommy and Me event coming up on October 21st. We are looking for some adults or older girls who can run the table for us and get some sign ups. We will provide everything you need for the table(you can add your own posters/pictures to make it your own). The time is 11-3. If your able to give 1 or more hours to help us cover the whole event that would be great. Please let me know if your able and what times. We are hoping to make it a great day to get more girls involved to become leaders!

Gluten-free Trios are back, baby!
Here's what you need to know about Trios:
- You can order as many cases as you want, however, Trios are non-refundable and cannot be returned. GSEP does not recommend that you donate cases to Operation Cookies from Home.
- Trios are a one-time only order. Ordering opens tomorrow, Friday, August 25, and closes Monday, September 25.
- Place your order here.
- Your Trios order will be loaded into the new ABC Smart Cookie platform (
previously Snap+) by Product Program staff. You will pick up your Trios at initial order pick-up.
- Girls will receive individual credit for Trios sold, and troops will receive the normal proceed amount.
- Each box of Trios costs $5. Girls will receive a special patch for selling six or more boxes.

NPSU Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort
In order to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, we are collecting for the McKinney-Vento program in the Pasadena Independent School District. The McKinney-Vento Program helps students in the district that are homeless, unaccompanied students, and migrant workers children. The district usually has about 1800 students in this program that they work with in the school year and are expecting that number to double after Hurricane Harvey. They are a donation based program and can only help when they have supplies. We are collecting from their “Wish List”. We will collect the items at the October 5th Service Unit Meeting. If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact Celestin.

- 8AM Leave Lansdale
- Our Coach Bus will pick us up at the Big Lots Shopping Center, 648 E. Main
Street, Lansdale. We will have a bathroom on the bus and will play Finding
Nemo on the way down. Bus leaves promptly at 8am. Please be 15-
20 minutes early for check in, especially if you are with a larger group. - 11AM Check-in to Baltimore Aquarium
- Start your day at the Baltimore Aquarium, where we will have a brown bag lunch
outside on the picnic tables before our check in time of 11:00. You will have a little
over 3 hours to wonder around at the aquarium. - There is an optional 4D movie at a discounted price of $5.00 per person.
- The aquarium does not allow any FOOD or STROLLERS INSIDE!!Recommended 3 and older!
- Patches are available for $1.00 each.
- 2:30PM Leave Aquarium
- At 2:30 our bus will then take us to Medieval Times Restaurant where we will have
time to explore the castle before the dinner doors open at 4:30 and the show
begins!! - 4:30PM Medieval Times Dinner and Show
- Children 4 and under are considered lap children only (no seat/meal and seating is tight) you must pay Scout Price if you want them to have their own seat and meal.
- No stroller rule also applies inside the castle. There is a lot to explore inside, some exhibits require extra $ or may be scary to the little ones. Do at your own leisure/interest.
- Live horses are used during the show, so those with allergies, please keep it in mind.

NAR 2017 Info
At the Sept. SU Meeting, Alice will be handing out the Nuts About Reading information.
- There will be a sign-up sheet. All should complete the information. If you are not participating in the NAR campaign, please mark NO.
- Many troops do just the address booklets. The booklet is worth $2.00 each. The girls fill them out with 9 good, accurate address and they are given to Alice by Oct. 23. The troop must sell enough product that the profit would be covered. One or two on line sales or donations to the military would usually cover it.
- You would need a packet for each girl. Take your envelope. Do not misplace the envelope as it has the directions for the entire sale including the banking information.
- The girl packets will be in Alice's car. On your way out, please take enough for your troop and a few extra if you think you will get new girls in the next couple of weeks.
- On the table will be the girl permission slips. Please take enough for your troop. The sheet may also be printed from the council web NAR page.
- They did not send enough money envelopes. Take only what you are sure you need.

Calling All Leaders: Opportunity Catalog
The opportunity catalog is the list of troops with available spaces per ratio that girls can sign up into. After a parent inputs their information they have access and can select a troop that fits their scheduling needs. Once a girl signs up into a troop, the leader receives an email saying "Susie Smith has signed up for your troop, please reach out to welcome her and provide any necessary information." All of our troops with spaces with be opened up in the catalog come October first, but we are offering a raffle incentive to leaders of troops who opt-in early. Leaders of any troop that opens in the catalog prior to September 30th will be entered into our raffle with various prizes including a S'mores making kit and a tablet.

Profit on nuts/candy has been raised a nickel to $0.80 and magazines by 1% to 11 %.
All level of troops may choose not to take the recognition awards, getting only patches, and will receive $.85 and 12%. (entire troop must choose this option)
Troops that sell $750 in NAR and increase their INIITAL cookie order by 20% will get an additional $0.02 per box in cookie proceeds.
There is a new Cross Program Patch. Any girl who sells 10 NAR items AND 24 cookie packages will receive a special patch. (This is the minimum recognition level for both programs)
The girl order taking period is Oct.1 to Oct. 23 (Nuts/candy orders, paper magazine subscriptions, reach out booklet)
No late orders will be accepted.
On-line sales will continue to Nov. 19. Recognitions earned by on-line sales will be automatically adjusted to the girl's record by GSEP.
The ACH sweep will be Dec. 7 with 100% of the amount owed to council will be taken from the troop's account.

Eclipse 2017
A rare celestial event is happening on Monday, August 21! A partial solar eclipse is occurring in our corner of the universe that afternoon. Girls, volunteers, and their families are invited to a FREE (and safe!) viewing party at the Nurture Nature Center in Easton.

It’s going to be a day full of fun activities & games and a chance to stock up on some school supplies. Just a reminder that the top 3 Service Units that recruits the most new members will win gift certificates to the GSEP shop. Please encourage your troops & girls to bring lots of friends out to learn about Girl Scouts!

End of the Year Report
It's that time of year again, time for the year end report! For all the new leaders, this report gives a brief overview of your troop and its membership at the end of the year. For the leaders who have filled out the report before, you'll be happy to know that you no longer need to give us information on each girl, we just want to know the total number of girls in the troop and the number that are bridging.
Please fill the report out by the next Service Unit Meeting, this Thursday, April 6th. We want to make sure that all girls that are bridging have the opportunity to experience bridging activities and we want to get the jump on placing any girls who will be without a troop.

Our May Service Unit Meeting is our "Events" Meeting, where we discuss upcoming plans for the next scout year. In anticipation of this meeting, please submit your suggestions for 2017-2018 events.
