Michele has been a part of the NPSU Team since the 2014-2015 term, where she was tasked with the newly created Events Manager position. The following year, she added Secertary and Social Media to her title. In the Spring of 2019, those positions were merged into the Communications & Events Manager position. She is the recipient of the 2016 GSEP Pioneer Award and the 2019 Innovator G.I.R.L. Award.
In addition to her work with the Service Unit, she has led multiple troops, including a digital-hybrid troop for special needs and homeschooled scouts. Currently, she serves as co-Leader of Troop 71037 with fellow SU Team member, Dessie Hershey, a multi-level troop meeting in Lansdale, PA.
A Nashville native, Michele was a girl Girl Scout in her youth and attended college in Vermont, where she met her husband of 21 years. She runs a service organization, Mending Heart Bellies, and serves as the third grade Learning Center Coordinator for the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club, where she uses her background as a librarian to encourage and improve ELA skills, reading comprehension, and mathematics retention with local children. In her spare time, Michele writes both fiction and nonfiction, runs marathons, teaches yoga, and serves at her church as the Special Needs Coordinator and instructor of the Adaptive Religious Education classroom. She homeschools her five youngest children and enjoys coffee dates with her husband. You can find her hanging out a a local coffee shop, running local races, and training for her next marathon in the Hatfield-Lansdale community.
