Celestin began scouting as a Junior, only to resume her Girl Scout journey as an adult; she is finishing her eighth year as a leader in the North Penn Service Unit and has served as Finance Officer (formerly “Treasurer”) since 2013. As both a primary school and Head Start teacher, along with serving as Director of Huntington Learning Center, she has a heart for working with children. After becoming a stay-at-home mother, Celestin became active not only in Girl Scouts but also with her children’s schools. She has been an active volunteer at Walton Farm for 13 years, including serving as a member of the WF Home and School board for 4 years, and is currently entering her sixth (and final year) as a member of the Pennfield Middle School Home and School board, where she also volunteers in the school library.

Celestin
grew up in Texas, Saudi Arabia, and New York, having spent her youth in 18 different
houses. Her father’s work building oil refineries gave her the
opportunity to see the world, and she still enjoys to travel; her most recent goal is to see all 50
states before her 50th birthday. She loves National Parks in the U.S., with her favorite
spot being Bryce National Part in Utah. Celestin lives with her
husband, son, who will attend SUNY in the fall, and her daughter, a
bridging-up Senior Scout.
