Healthy Relationships for Seniors and Ambassadors
Girl Scout Troop 5042 is hosting a weekend retreat on Healthy Relationships for Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts at Camp Laughing Waters. We will look at the elements of healthy relationships and explore whether these qualities are present in our friendships and dating relationships. We will develop ways to make good decisions when it comes to beginning new relationships and maintaining existing relationships. The workshop will be led by volunteers who are Social Work Professionals, All meals, snacks, and workshop materials are included in the $40/person price.

Reminder: Meeting- Oct 4th
Reminder: Our monthly meeting is tomorrow night, Thursday, October 4, 2018. An informal discussion will begin at 7pm; the meeting will be called to order at 7:15pm. The meeting will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale, in Rm 125/127.

Meetings are mandatory and a representative from every Troop is required to attend.
SU Team Meeting
The kick-off Service Unit Team Meeting will be held on
August 14th at Michele's in Hatfield, from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
After that meeting, the agenda for our "September" kick off leader meeting,
to be held on Thursday, August 23rd,
will be sent out.
Indoor Overnight Training
The next Indoor Overnight Training is scheduled for Wednesday, June 13th at Trinity from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in room 126. Since this is the first step in getting the training necessary to take the troop camping, please make sure you or someone in your troop takes this before the fall outdoor training. Registration is on the GSEP site. Contact Alice with questions.

Patriot Days at Daniel Boone Homestead
Since 1967 thousands of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire youth, and other youth groups have experienced Patriot Days. The event is held for for one weekend in June at the Daniel Boone Homestead in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. Participants meet new friends and share in a unique camping experience.
Units check in Friday evening, with the program all day Saturday. The weekend winds up on Sunday with the annual closing ceremony before we break camp.
Experienced adults who cannot come with a unit are welcome to come for the day or the weekend and help with Encampment staff. Pass along to us any ideas for improvements, new acts, or groups who could present a station.

Sad News
It is with great sadness that our Girl Scout Service Unit family mourns the passing of Alice's husband, George. He has been not only extremely supportive of Alice's devotion to the Girl Scout community but was himself a huge supporter. Every scout in our SU has been touched by Alice's dedication and we extend our condolences to the entire Murphy family in this time of sadness. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9am-9:45am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, at St. Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church in Hatfield.
